A Token With a River Mission: Ethicoin Reserves 100 Billion ETHIC+ for Ghana Clean-Up
NEW YORK — Ethicoin has set aside 10% of its fixed supply to help restore the Pra, Ankobra and Birim rivers in Ghana, funding the work through a token reserve rather than transfer taxes.
Most cryptocurrencies are judged on price alone. Ethicoin (ETHIC+) asks to be judged on something else as well: what happens to three rivers in Ghana. The token, built on RichX Chain, ties a large share of its supply to environmental repair.
The rivers at the centre
The project names the Pra, Ankobra and Birim rivers as the focus of its work. It says they were damaged by unlicensed gold mining, a practice known in Ghana as galamsey.
To address this, Ethicoin commits 10% of its total supply, or 100,000,000,000 ETHIC+, directly to remediation.
No tax on transfers
Many impact-focused tokens fund their causes by skimming a fee from each transaction. Ethicoin does not. Its transfer fee is 0%, so a 1,000 ETHIC+ payment arrives as 1,000 ETHIC+. The funding comes from the reserved allocation instead, and the project says each allocation can be checked on RichXScan.
How the reserve affects the gold index
The remediation balance also plays a role in the token's gold reference. Circulating supply is calculated as totalSupply() minus that balance. Grams per token equal 90,000,000,000 divided by circulating supply, and the indexed value is grams per token divided by 31.1034768, multiplied by XAU/USD.
Holders can burn tokens on-chain. With no way to mint replacements, the project says each burn raises the gold reference for remaining ETHIC+.
The token's ground rules
Ethicoin's white paper, released as a Final Edition on 4 September 2026, fixes the supply at 1,000,000,000,000 tokens with 9 decimals, all created at deployment. The RXC-20 contract, 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46, contains no mint function and no self-destruct function, and supports EIP-2612 gasless permits.
Two administrative keys, Owner and Guardian, are stored on separate hardware, with a 48-hour timelock and a transfer cap of 1,000,000,000 ETHIC+ (0.1% of supply) per transaction.
Beyond the reserve
The project frames this as a contrast with speculative tokens: rather than relying on trading activity to raise money, a fixed portion of supply was committed from the start. The same network also hosts RichX Coin (RICHX), its native gas coin with 1 billion units created at genesis, and Bitcoin RXC (RBTX), a Keccak-256 proof-of-work token capped at 21 million with no premine.
The network
RichX Chain runs the London EVM under QBFT Proof of Authority and offers five-second finality. Gas is paid in RichX Coin (RICHX) at 1 gwei, or 0.000021 RICHX per transfer. The project lists the chain as Chain ID #20260618.
