After a $300 Billion Bitcoin Slide, Ethicoin Pitches a Gold-Linked, Fee-Free Model
NEW YORK — With $300 billion wiped from Bitcoin's value, attention turns to Ethicoin (ETHIC+), a fixed-supply RichX Chain token that ties itself to gold and sets aside 100 billion tokens for Ghana's rivers.
A $300 billion drop in Bitcoin's market value has renewed a familiar debate: what should a digital asset actually be anchored to? Ethicoin (ETHIC+), a token running on RichX Chain, offers its own answer, pairing a fixed supply with a published gold reference and a large environmental commitment.
A token with a hard ceiling
According to the project's white paper, dated 4 September 2026 and labelled the Final Edition, all 1,000,000,000,000 ETHIC+ were created in a single step when the contract went live. The token uses 9 decimals.
The project stresses two omissions in its code. There is no function for minting new tokens, so the total can never grow, and there is no self-destruct routine that could wipe the contract.
Where it runs
ETHIC+ is an RXC-20 contract at 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46. RichX Chain is EVM-compatible, built on the London EVM, and reaches agreement through QBFT Proof of Authority, which the project says gives blocks immediate finality every 5 seconds.
Network fees are paid in the chain's native coin, RichX Coin (RICHX). At the 1 gwei minimum gas price, a standard transfer costs 0.000021 RICHX. RICHX itself has a fixed supply of 1 billion, all created in the genesis block.
No skim on transfers
Ethicoin charges a 0% transfer fee. In practice, a wallet that sends 1,000 ETHIC+ delivers exactly 1,000 ETHIC+ to the receiver. The contract also supports EIP-2612 permits, which allow approvals to be signed without paying gas up front.
How the gold index is calculated
The project publishes its formula openly. Grams of gold per token equal 90,000,000,000 divided by circulating supply, where circulating supply is totalSupply() less the remediation balance. That figure is then divided by 31.1034768 and multiplied by the XAU/USD spot price to produce an indexed value.
Because any holder can burn tokens permanently, and nothing can replace them, each burn lifts the gold reference attached to every remaining token, the project explains.
Rivers, not speculation
Rather than taxing trades, Ethicoin reserves 10% of its supply, or 100,000,000,000 ETHIC+, for cleaning up the Pra, Ankobra and Birim rivers in Ghana, which have been damaged by unlicensed gold mining known as galamsey. The project says these allocations can be checked on RichXScan.
Administrative control is split between an Owner key and a Guardian key held on separate hardware. Changes face a 48-hour timelock, and any single transaction is capped at 1,000,000,000 ETHIC+, or 0.1% of supply.
The same chain also hosts Bitcoin RXC (RBTX), a Keccak-256 Proof-of-Work token with a 21 million cap, no premine and a 5 RBTX block reward, which the project says can be mined from phones and browsers. For reference, the deployment record cited by the project lists Chain ID #20260618, the ETHIC+ contract 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46, block 0xaa682 and transaction 0xc9ac198b8df8fbea20260618.
