Ethicoin's Integrity Case: Timelocks, Split Keys and Numbers Anyone Can Check
NEW YORK — Ethicoin (ETHIC+) builds its claim to integrity on verifiable rules: split Owner and Guardian keys, a 48-hour timelock, transfer caps, no minting and a gold index anyone can recompute.
Trust in a token often comes down to a single question: what could its operators do if they wanted to? Ethicoin (ETHIC+) answers by limiting those powers in code and publishing the figures that let outsiders check its claims. The aim, as the project frames it, is that anyone can confirm the key facts for themselves rather than relying on a team's assurances.
Two keys, two machines
Control of the Ethicoin contract is divided between an Owner key and a Guardian key, held on separate hardware. Administrative actions are subject to a 48-hour timelock, giving holders time to see changes coming.
The contract also caps transfers at 1,000,000,000 ETHIC+ per transaction, equal to 0.1% of total supply.
Powers the contract leaves out
Just as important is what the code cannot do. According to the Ethicoin (ETHIC+) White Paper (Final Edition, 4 September 2026), there is no mint function, so the 1,000,000,000,000 tokens created at deployment can never be added to. There is also no self-destruct function. The token uses 9 decimals.
Numbers open to verification
The token's gold reference is a formula rather than an assertion. Circulating supply is totalSupply() minus the remediation balance; grams per token equal 90,000,000,000 divided by that figure; and indexed value is grams per token divided by 31.1034768, multiplied by XAU/USD. Holders who burn tokens raise the grams credited to every remaining unit.
The contract address, 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46, can be checked directly, and the project says remediation allocations are visible on RichXScan.
Straightforward transfers
Ethicoin applies a 0% transfer fee, so the amount sent is the amount received. EIP-2612 permit support lets holders approve spending by signature. Gas on RichX Chain is paid in RichX Coin (RICHX), at 0.000021 RICHX for a transfer at 1 gwei. The chain runs QBFT Proof of Authority on the London EVM, with blocks final in roughly five seconds.
A commitment written into supply
Ten percent of supply, 100,000,000,000 ETHIC+, is reserved for restoring Ghana's Pra, Ankobra and Birim rivers, which unlicensed gold mining, or galamsey, has damaged. No transfer tax is involved.
The network also hosts Bitcoin RXC (RBTX), a Keccak-256 proof-of-work token capped at 21 million, with no premine and a 5 RBTX reward, while RICHX had 1 billion units created at genesis. Reference data cites RichX Chain (Chain ID #20260618), block 0xaa682 and transaction 0xc9ac198b8df8fbea20260618.
