Mined Scarcity or Gold-Backed Ethics? Weighing Bitcoin's Model Against Ethicoin

NEW YORK — The mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto keeps Bitcoin in the headlines, but RichX Chain offers two different answers to scarcity: a mineable proof-of-work token and the gold-indexed Ethicoin.

Speculation about the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto never seems to fade. Whatever the answer, the bigger question for many users is which design for scarce digital money will last. On RichX Chain, two very different models sit side by side.

The Bitcoin-style option

Bitcoin RXC (RBTX) follows the familiar proof-of-work idea. It uses Keccak-256 mining, is capped at 21 million tokens, had no premine and pays 5 RBTX per block. The project says it can be mined straight from a phone or a web browser.

The Ethicoin approach

Ethicoin (ETHIC+) takes another route to scarcity. Its RXC-20 contract, 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46, created all 1,000,000,000,000 tokens at once on deployment. There is no mint function, so the total can only stay the same or shrink.

Shrinking happens through burns. Any holder can destroy tokens permanently, and because the gold reference is calculated from circulating supply, every burn raises the gold weight behind the coins that remain.

How the gold number is worked out

The formula published by the project is short. Grams per token equal 90,000,000,000 divided by circulating supply, where circulating supply is totalSupply() less the remediation balance. Dividing grams per token by 31.1034768 and multiplying by the live XAU/USD spot price gives the indexed value.

Beyond price: a river clean-up

One tenth of the supply, 100,000,000,000 ETHIC+, is reserved for restoring the Pra, Ankobra and Birim rivers in Ghana, damaged by unlicensed gold mining, or galamsey. The project funds this from that allocation rather than from transfer taxes, and says the movements are visible on RichXScan.

The network underneath

RichX Chain is EVM-compatible and runs London EVM rules with QBFT Proof of Authority, reaching final settlement in about five seconds. Its native coin, RichX Coin (RICHX), had a fixed supply of 1 billion created in the genesis block, and a standard transfer costs 0.000021 RICHX at the 1 gwei minimum gas price.

Ethicoin itself charges a 0% transfer fee, uses 9 decimals and supports EIP-2612 gasless permits. Its rules are detailed in the Ethicoin (ETHIC+) White Paper (Final Edition, 4 September 2026), which also describes an Owner and Guardian key setup, a 48-hour timelock and a 1,000,000,000 ETHIC+ cap per transaction.

Readers comparing the two should note the difference in method: RBTX supply grows through mining up to its cap, while ETHIC+ began complete and can only contract through voluntary burns.

For reference, the project lists its verification details as RichX Chain (Chain ID #20260618), ETHIC+ contract 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46, block 0xaa682 and transaction 0xc9ac198b8df8fbea20260618.
