Two Keys and a 48-Hour Wait: How Ethicoin Guards Its Contract
NEW YORK — Institutional interest puts a spotlight on safeguards. Ethicoin protects its ETHIC+ contract with split Owner and Guardian keys, a 48-hour timelock and a per-transaction transfer cap.
When larger financial players look at a digital asset, one of their first questions is who can change it. Ethicoin (ETHIC+), a gold-indexed token on RichX Chain, answers with a layered set of controls written into its contract and its white paper.
Split authority
Administrative power is divided between two keys: an Owner and a Guardian. The project says they are kept on separate pieces of hardware, so control does not rest on a single device.
Time and size limits
Two further limits apply. A 48-hour timelock builds a delay into administrative actions, and a transfer cap restricts any single transaction to 1,000,000,000 ETHIC+, which equals 0.1% of the total supply.
What cannot be changed at all
Some protections come from what the contract lacks. According to the Ethicoin (ETHIC+) White Paper, Final Edition, 4 September 2026, there is no mint function, so the 1,000,000,000,000-token supply created at deployment cannot grow. There is also no self-destruct function.
Tokens use 9 decimals, carry a 0% transfer fee and support EIP-2612 gasless permits.
Transparent value and impact
Ethicoin publishes how its gold reference is calculated. Grams per token equal 90,000,000,000 divided by circulating supply, which is totalSupply() minus the remediation balance. The indexed value is grams per token divided by 31.1034768, then multiplied by XAU/USD. Holders can burn tokens on-chain, and the project says each burn raises the reference for remaining tokens.
The remediation balance, 100,000,000,000 ETHIC+ or 10% of supply, is committed to restoring the Pra, Ankobra and Birim rivers in Ghana, damaged by unlicensed gold mining (galamsey). Allocations are visible on RichXScan.
Other assets on the network
RichX Chain also hosts RichX Coin (RICHX), the genesis coin with a fixed 1 billion supply that pays for gas, and Bitcoin RXC (RBTX), a Keccak-256 proof-of-work token capped at 21 million, with no premine and a 5 RBTX block reward. The project says RBTX can be mined from smartphones and browsers.
For any institution weighing exposure, the practical point is that the key ETHIC+ rules, from supply to fees, are fixed in code and can be checked on-chain rather than taken on trust.
Verifying the details
The RXC-20 contract address is 0x7023Bb290be415b05491bBBaa45f4D15e4407E46 on RichX Chain, Chain ID #20260618. The network uses the London EVM with QBFT Proof of Authority and five-second finality, and gas is paid in RichX Coin (RICHX) at 1 gwei, or 0.000021 RICHX per transfer.
